Gary Glisan,
founder and CEO of Superior Training Solutions, began
his career in the substance abuse testing and training
industry in the United States Air Force. Then Colonel
Glisan was Commander and Director of the Air Force Forensic
Drug Testing Laboratory. This Laboratory tested all
Air Force personnel for drugs of abuse, provided expert
witness testimony in trials, and developed forensic
drug testing policy for the Air Force.
After retiring
from the Air Force, Gary anticipated that many companies
would require assistance in establishing and managing
drug and alcohol testing programs to meet recently published
government rules concerning drug and alcohol abuse in
the workplace. To meet this need, he formed his own
drug and alcohol management and training companies.
He merged these companies with National Safety Alliance
in 1994, becoming Executive Vice President of NSA, and
a member of the NSA Board of Directors.
As one of the
largest and most successful Drug and Alcohol Test Management
companies, NSA had become an attractive acquisition
target for background screening companies and, in 2000,
was purchased by ChoicePoint, one of the most successful
background intelligence companies in the United States.
Gary stayed with ChoicePoint for three years to transition
NSA clients to their new system
Other
experience
Gary was a founder of the Substance Abuse Program Administrator’s Association
(SAPAA) and served as Director and President for two consecutive terms.

Gary, a native
of Oklahoma and veteran of two Services, was a Marine
Aviator during the Viet Nam Conflict, and later became
an Air Force Colonel. Besides his undergraduate degrees,
he holds a Master of Public Health and a Doctor of Veterinary

is also the home of Superior Training Solutions.
